Ekta Kapoor & Tiger Shroff's Mother Are Having A Heated Debate On Nepotism On Social Media
Producer Ekta Kapoor holds a strong opinion on nepotism. Recently, the producer was in a debate with Jackie’s wife and Tiger’s mom, Ayesha Shroff on nepotism on social media. Here’s what they have to say
The nepotism debate has been going on for quite some time now and looks like, it's not going to end anytime soon. Two days back, Ekta Kapoor and Imtiaz Ali unveiled the trailer of Laila Majnu. The film, which showcases a tragic love story, will launch two new faces into the industry without the filmy background. When the trailer was dropped online, the producer took to social media and shared the poster of film captioning, “Promo in two hours max! Pls see a glimpse of this piece of cinema about raw timeless love untamed by the commerce of films helmed by the best @imtiazaliofficial and lived by two yet unknown talents who have no film legacy or star fathers or godfathers.”
But looks like, the caption didn’t go too well with Jackie Shroff’s wife and Tiger Shroff’s mom, Ayesha Shroff.
Commenting on her post, Mrs. Shroff wrote, “It’s not a sin to have a star father my dear! Hard work and talent is the same no matter what caste creed or lineage!!!” Not agreeing with the star wife, Ekta Kapoor replied to her comment saying, “Ayesha Shroff not at all mam! I have one. But you have to admit for a producer to sell market in turn around a film with newcomers is far tougher with no lineage attached! This is no slight to any star kid least of all tiger who is FANTASTIC! But request to give others a chance too.”
Well, not only this, during the launch of Laila Majnu trailer, Ekta Kapoor was asked about nepotism and she replied saying, “Nepotism is there. And I don’t really agree with it only being in the film industry. Because star kids have become a great curiosity factor in the industry. So, it’s in the whole world around there and I don’t have a problem with it. I might take a different route, which might not be complete business friendly."
